During the week we posted a picture we took when on a visit to the haunting yet beautiful site of the Battle of Culloden, which you can see below…

We asked our many fans if they had ever been and if they could share their pictures in an effort to take a look at some different perspectives of the battlefield and surrounding areas. We couldn’t have been more shocked at the amazing response we had, especially on our Twitter page. Loads of amazing people shared some fantastic images alongside some of their thoughts about the site so we would like to take a little time to share them here and let everyone see how impactful such a site can be for generations to come. Take a look at a few of our favourites below and click on them to see the original post…

We would love to hear your thoughts on this historic site and if you’d like to share any images of your own feel free to email them to info@scotclans.com, and remember this is something we like to do every so often on Facebook and Twitter so make sure you like and follow us so you can keep an eye out and join in!

Love the pictures of the land of my ancestors. I dream of seeing in person one day but if I don’t your pictures help fill a void in my heart in my family history. Thank you for sharing.

  2. Ivana Fernádez says:

I love Scotland, its history, its people, its customs and all that beautiful land!

  3. Bernice Crawford Henderson-Jones says:

I am part of the Crawford Clan. My great grandfathers were chiefs and there has been a fierce pride passed down through the ages. Culloden haunts me to this day and I have no idea why. Thanks for the pictures, they give me a clear picture of what it was like back then. Loved the Outlander books and TV series.

  4. Sharon Anderson says:

One of my ancestors was named McGregor and I don’t know if any fought at Culloden but I know that was one bloody battle for the Scots and one I feel should have never been fought. They just didn’t have the support or the weapons.
