The castle is an amazingly well-preserved 14th Century castle just on the outskirts of the Scottish capital. It was home to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scotclans.com\/scottish_clans\/clan_preston\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Preston<\/a> family for over 250 years and was visited many times by Mary Queen of Scots.<\/p>\n<p>I wrote about my adventure for the lovely <a href=\"http:\/\/bikeablejo.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bikeable Jo over on her blog<\/a> which chronicles cycling adventures on the streets of Edinburgh.
