{"id":1738,"date":"2010-03-11T18:00:02","date_gmt":"2010-03-11T16:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scotclans.com\/bletherskite\/?p=1738"},"modified":"2010-03-11T18:00:02","modified_gmt":"2010-03-11T16:00:02","slug":"kilted-skiers-set-world-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/project1-m9gb2xku8.live-website.com\/?p=1738","title":{"rendered":"Kilted skiers set world record"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_39494\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-39494\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/kilted-skiers-300x2251.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-39494\" alt=\"kilted-skiers\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/kilted-skiers-300x2251.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-39494\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">kilted-skiers<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The world record for the most kilted skiers and snowboarders to go down a piste has been set by more than 200 people on CairnGorm Mountain near Aviemore.<\/p>\n<p>All involved, a total of 235, skied down in a line from the Ptarmigan Top Station on the mountain, with two pipers and a drummer leading the procession over the finish line.<\/p>\n<p>Money raised from the event was given to a skiing school programme as well as to charity.<\/p>\n<p>Scotland has not seen as a good a ski season since 2001, with snow expected to last up to as late as May.<\/p>\n<p>Colin Kirkwood, a spokesperson for CairnGorm Mountain had this to say: &#8220;We&#8217;re delighted, it was a little cloudy overhead but it was a fantastic spectacle and people really enjoyed taking part.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was an impressive sight and we wanted to do something to celebrate the great ski season we&#8217;ve been having and do something which could involve the public.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The world record for the most kilted skiers and snowboarders to go down a piste has been set by more than 200 people on CairnGorm Mountain near Aviemore.
